As a fourth generation jeweler, Irma Davidson-Gómez, president of I.M.D., learned the business of diamonds early in life. When she and her family relocated to New York City in 1963 from Havana, Cuba they quickly became a fixture in Manhattan’s famous 47th St. Diamond District, where they were well known among the vendors and traders for their quality work.

In 1975, Irma started her own business, Silver Mine™, in which she primarily sold quality silver and gold jewelry. For the last twenty years, I.M. Davidson, Inc. (d.b.a. Silver Mine™) has specialized in diamond sales and prides itself on creating custom jewelry that consistently exceeds its customers’ expectations.

She continues her education of this constantly evolving industry as a member of: the American Society of Jewelry Historians, Jewelers of America, the New York Mineralogical Club, and the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers. She is an active member of the Gemological Institute of America alumni, Manhattan chapter, in which she has served as treasurer and vice president.

Today, Irma is as well known as her parents were before her, for the demeanor with which she conducts her business and the personal nature with which she engages her clientele. Here at I.M.D. we guarantee a unique customer service experience that few companies can match. Part of the reason for this is that every client we engage is tended to by Irma herself and each piece is made to accommodate their most specific desires.

Whether you wish to bring to life a jewelry piece you’ve only seen in dreams, to realize the creation of a family heirloom, or to reinvent yourself from the outside in, we are more than competent and willing to assure your complete satisfaction because we consider your involvement and ultimate contentment more precious than the materials with which we work.
